History: He was approached in 2374 by Senator Giles Montgomery to form a new counterterrorism unit that could be deployed across the Core Worlds and beyond. In 2379 PC, he and Larkin Biske went through a list of candidates and began forming the first three NOMAD groups. The Rangers of Group 4 were reassigned from elite units within the regular army.
One of the first missions NOMAD was tasked to was the elimination of the Deitech leadership. After which, they were tasked to various on and off-world strikes and reconnaissance.
During the summer of 2385 PC, Groups 1 and 3, were assigned to track specific Freeworlder cells on home soil, as well as investigate terrorist crime scenes. These changes were made by Montgomery, much to the chagrin of Martin and his teams.
