Note: The Ptalar have not made official contact with any species in the Milky Way Galaxy at this time.

Former humans of [[The Lost Fleet]], now fully artificial and bolstered with technology from the Yill Maingess.
The Ptalar have observed the events of the galaxy over the past several thousand years. Various elements of the Ptalar have been living in the Milky Way since the ~1200s. They generally avoided contact with humans, but may have done so occasionally.
Variants:
Ptalar Ambassadors:
These look almost completely human, and would be used to interact with humanity without raising suspicion of their nature. While maintaining all their abilities and technology, they would likely visit and observe key moments in history, reporting back to the chroniclers.
Ptalar Civilian:
Similar to the Ambassadors, but looking slightly more inhuman. They are the typical form of their species.
Ptalar Machanicoran:
Completely inhuman variants that are equipped with more mechanical parts, allowing them to undertake more laborious needs of the fleet. They share a similar appearance to the Archeons, upon which they are based.
Ptalar Chronicler:
These are responsible to recording Ptalar history. They are fully dedicated to the task, far beyond what a Methuselan Archivist could hope to achieve. Between their cybernetic memory and their instantaneous links to others of their kind, Ptalar records are nearly infallible.
Ptalar Interfacer:
These are dedicated to linking with Ptalar technology. Acting as navigators, technicians, and diagnosticians. While all Ptalar can interface with their technology, these variants are purpose designed for efficiency and thoroughness.
Ptalar Oracle:
Despite their society being based in logic, these semi-spiritual variants are connected to the whole of Ptalar society. They specialize in reading the patterns of societal desires, needs, and conflict. Oracles are often consulted in matters of state and when decisions are made that will affect their entire species.
Ptalar Archeon:
These are some of the oldest of the Ptalar. Dating back to the early experiments in modifying their bodies. They are the elders of the Ptalar society, forming a cabal of leaders who offer advice and suggestions for the future of their civilization. They are exceedingly rare to see, as only a few of them remain from the beginning of their history.
Technology:
Ptalar Environment Suit:
While engineered to be able to survive in a wide array of environments (including the vacuum of space), they are still subject to discomfort in particularly harsh biomes. These suits provide protection for their bodies in such places.
Hubcomm Implants:
Similar to a Comms Implant used by humans, but linked to their Transit generators. These implants allow near-instantaneous communication with any other Ptalar in the universe.
Transit Generators:
A micronized version of an Artikybahl Device. Using Yill Maingess technology, these small devices carried by all Ptalar, allow them to Transit from place to place almost instantaneously.
Traction System:
When used at a personal level, the Ptalar Traction System can be used to aid in movement around terrain and outside spacecraft. To an outside observer, it may seem that a Ptalar is floating through the air.
Weaponry:
While the Ptalar are pacifist by nature, having seen the horrors of the Second Galactic War and swearing off being involved in such slaughter, they have the ability to make terrible weaponry. Based on technology gained from the Yill Maingess, even handheld weapons can disrupt molecular bonds, open tiny remote transit portals or accelerate projectiles to incredible speeds without the need for propellant.
As such, armor is virtually useless against any form of Ptalar weaponry and would be absolutely devastating in combat. The only viable defense is Magical barriers, but against such terrible power, even they are often insufficient.
Vehicles and aerospace craft:
Ptalar still use vehicles for transport. Utilizing their traction systems for levitation and propulsion, they are remarkably fast and maneuverable. The occupants are capable of withstanding high acceleration loads as well, so many maneuvers often look impossible.
The Fleet:
Nothing remains of the original fleet built during the Second Golden Age. But they have millions of vessels scattered throughout the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy. Spacecraft are still used for exploration, colonization, and scientific study of the universe.
Blackguard:
The original home world of the Ptalar. This is the rogue planet they happened across in the intergalactic void. The crust of the planet is now fully artificial and exists as a giant spacecraft and nomadic base of operations.
