The amount of Artikybahl Devices has been finite since at least the First Galactic War.
The majority of these devices are installed in Transit Rings. These are located at the L2 point near most habitable planets (one per system at most).
Many new rings use Artikybahl Devices scavenged from old abandoned rings within the bounds of the Stellar Decay. The ICL and later EBRIS was responsible for the majority of early expeditionary missions to recover them.
Transit Rings are all very similar at about 1 kilometer in diameter. More than adequate for the largest of human ships to pass through.
The rings also double as communication nodes for the HubComm network.
